I'm trying to decide on the dimensions for a new tank, since I decided bouncing my cube tank like basketball would be fun. :rolleye1:

Anyway here are the 2 options I'm considering.

a.) 22" x 22" x 16" Tall

b.) 30" x 22" x 16" Tall

Either option would be rimless with an external overflow, and have a MH pendant suspended over the tank for lighting.

Take into consideration that size is not the main factor here. Sure a bigger tank has it's benefits... However, when I decided to downgrade, and sell off the 90, I decided that I would be happy with a sleek looking custom nano tank.

So I'm basically polling to see which choice you think looks the nicest as a "complete set up" overall?

I'm using my new sump as a "stand-in" for option B since it has almost identical dimensions. The sump tank being used in the pictures is 30" x 21" x 15" Tall.

Here are the test pics:

I like the smaller one. If you are going for a nano look, IMO I think the smaller size tank does it. But then again the second tank has the covers on it still, so that could sway me a bit.

I like the rectangular one and it would be nicer with the wave you could have going in it. Longer tank equals slower wave and more natural look IMO. If you did the longer one you could do 2 rock piles like the one you had and maybe even have one come up out of the water slightly for a neat look.

Plus you could have 3-4 more clams in the larger tank :) I think one light would still be perfect though.

bigger is ALWAYS better

Not sure I would have gone for the caps on "ALWAYS" myself :)

Do you think that theory holds true when shopping for a wife or maybe getting a speeding ticket :eek2: :D
