thinking about adding a diamond goby.
what do you all think.

they sift sand a bit.. always better to have a few more months age in the tank and let the sandbed age :) your levels look good though.. calcium is a bit low but fish should be okay.

I agree with letting the sand age a bit before getting any sand sifters.
Another note about Diamond, and sleeper gobies, they tend to have a high mortality rate. This would be a good fish to quarantine and be given medications for parasites. I have had numerous diamonds that have done just fine for a few weeks and eat like pigs but just keep getting skinnier and skinnier until dead, or they do just fine and then dead for "no reason".
If you really want one, then I'd recommend gabbing one that someone else in the hobby is selling.

My recommendation for a 1st fish of the tank (if you like them), would be a blenny. Very enjoyable fish to watch.

I would not do it. A diamond golby in a small tank will make a real mess. He will have sand all over your rocks and corals. The water will always be cloudy. Then you will be battling red slim algae. Plus they do like to jump out of the tank at night.

+1:wave:

have a diamond goby in my 34 without a problem. infact my sand bed is white becuz of him. even eats pellet food. not saying rush and go get one, but i dont think its a horrible idea if u want to add one A BIT LATER.

MORE IMPORTANTLY, i would raise calcium level to 400+ if your keeping fish/lps/sps/etc
