tank pick up & delivery

I ordered a new 150g from Miracles.

I anticipate it will ship in about 7-8 weeks from now. Just trying to get all my ducks in a row..

They are sending it via freight to Bayshore.

Any ideas on who in the area could pick it up in Bayshore and deliver it to my house in Setauket?

It's going to be tank+stand+canopy.

Will go into my garage until I break down my existing 68g. I just need to get it from Bayshore to Setauket..

You could always rent a uhaul and a couple friends. 150g tank should be able to be moved by 3 or 4 guys unless its super thick glass.

Me and one other was enough for my 125. A third would be helpful though. Might want 2 vehicles. May not fit the tank and stand in one pickup. Also if you have a long distance to carry and you found a third person, grab a pair of saw horses to slide under the tank so you can take a break wherever you need to

ya tank will be all 5/8" glass..
I should know the total weight when it's about ready to ship out..

I still have a few weeks to work out the logistics, and with any luck Miracles has a delivery service that's in the area once a month.. So I'm trying to line up my dates to use them.

That will be a pretty heavy tank. I strongly suggest you get industrial suction cups. My 325 has 3/4" glass. It took 8 guys to move including Vinny cheering us on. We used 6 suction cups.

God I hope mine weights a bit less than a 325....
Maybe 4 guys and 4 suction cups?
Thinking these (although I haven't ruled out having a company move it... after all once you factor the cost of the cups, truck, and manpower it might cost about the same).

I'm starting to think that breaking down the 68 down ahead of the 150 might be a good idea. That way I only have to move it once..

tank's here

tank's here

well tank's been here for about 4 weeks now.. I've finally had the time to break down the old tank and move the stand in, get it centered and leveled.

Now to see about rounding up 4-5 guys to move the glass from my garage to the living room.
