Tank pics

Awesome Dude
So I have not updated in quite a while. My tanks have had its ups and downs but it seems to be doing really well and healthy for the last 6 months. I have slowed down and let nature take its course. I am about rady to add some more corals and i am thinking some SPS and a few more zoos to the bigger of the 2 tanks and when i am cycled and stable, alot of SPS to the smaller tank. Ill be setting up a frag tank for both tanks later on so alot of trades will be in the works.

So here are a few pics of what i got. Sorry the quality is not that good. I am still learning to take good pictures.

I have the 2x27 watt PC lights that came with the tank. I upgaded the ballasts a while back so when these bulbs need to be replaced, Ill get the slightly longer 32 watt bulbs to put in. So I am putting out 4.5 watts per gallon now, and when i upgrade ill be putting out 5 1/3 watts per gallon. Rob at SWA and a few other that I have asked(all creditable sources in saltwater) have said that i have more than enough lighting to start keeping some of the easier SPS corals and a few of the more difficult. I do plan to replace them with a 150W halide or maybe a DIY T5 set in the canopy. I have room to go eithe way.

My 26 gallon tank has 2x54 watt T5s right now but I am in the process of purchasing a set of 4x54 watt T5s for it.

i would say when you buy new bulbs you should just buy a new fixture. MH on aquatraders.com are only 100 for a 250w. I bought a 80w 20k on ebay for 100. it was really nice. Keeping sps with pc wont have good growth and color, but you'll def will be able to keep them alive. Anyways, excited to see it progress

Attempting my first 2 SPS frags now. i got a small piece of encrusting monti and I got a nice Acro(price was very right) to try out. They are already looking better from when i added them to the tank. The acro had browned out alot and was barly coming back to green and now it is really making a change. Pics to come later tonight

Here are some new pics of the 12G SPS tank.

My acro frag was completely browned out when i got it. Slowly turning green again.

Ill keep everyone posted on how the SPS frags do in the tank. Theother corals in the tank are frags for sale or trade. Some Kenya, xenia, and small shrooms.

Future plan for my 26g is to upgrade my bulbs to ATI Blue+ and ATI Supreme Blue(i think it is called) Reviews show that ill get a higher par rating and some snappier colors with them. Ill post more when i get those.

Well the 12g SPS tank is on hold. I had a real bad diatom bloom so i had to move the corals to the 26g for now. That little tank has a mind of its own.

The 26g bow is coming along real nice. I have added some more corals and I will post pictures later. I am looking for some Acans if anyone has some cheap i can pick up.

Well again it has been sometime. I ditched the 2x54 watt T5's and replaced them with a 175MH fixture. Right now I have a 10k Aqualine in the fiture but I have ordered a 12k reeflux from hellolights.com. Should be here friday. So anyways, here is 2 new pics.

I was wrong. The bulb got here today. Here is a picture with it on. As you can see with this picture it has alot more blue in it then the 10k. It is awesome.
