Tank plumbing/ overflow

Help!!! I'm plumbing my 150 gal(arcrilic) that originally came with center over flow 3/4"return and 1 1/2 " drain ..the center of the over flow box is drilled for return.. Can I upgrade to a Herbie drain??? Plug the over flow box return hole, and drill the back of the tank for returns ?? Or should I leave the exsisting 1.5 " durso?? Can't sleep thinking about 150 gal of saltwater on my beautiful hardwood floors :hmm2: any help would be appreciated

I'd try anything to get a Herbie or Bean Animal in there... I can't stand noise let alone the chance of failure...

I agree, I'm guessing I should use the 3/4 for full siphon and 1.5" for emergency?

On our 150 gallon frag tank we're running 3 1.5" drains, same on our 470 gallon display. I'd say you'd be fine with 1" drains.
