Tank price question

I am looking into possibly getting a perfecto 300 gallon deep dimension starphire glass tank.

I have found the tank a lot cheaper online (not in the same state unfortunately) than at my lfs's. The lowest price I have been able to find so far is $1,800 for the tank and a $1,000 for the stand. Is this too high? Should I keep looking? Do you think it's worth it?

(I'm also considering going with acrylic of similar dimensions).

I do not know what is fair/ how much things like this should be.

If I'm not allowed to ask a question like this here, please remove and I apologize in advance

Perfecto = Marineland; and they go on sale at least twice a year when you should be able to get a MUCH better price than $1,800.

I am still trying to decide on that, it's a hard decision. Everyone has different pros and cons.

I have heard that if an acrylic tank is made correctly it is 10x stronger and will last a very long time. But at the same time glass tanks if made correctly last a long time too (I know it is not as strong as acrylic and much heavier, but also clarity wise last longer due to being more scratch resistant)

If you are meticulous I would avoid acrylic. I had one for awhile but they are very hard to keep from scratching. One grain of sand can scratch the surface when cleaning. Before long there were scratches everywhere. They can be buffed out but it wasn't for me.
