Tank Pros and Cons

I am debating buying a bigger tank and wanted your opinion.

I will be using 250W MH XM20K and this will be an SPS tank

I think I have decided on a 150. But can't decide between the short or long tank. Right now I'm thinking the Short tank but would like your opinion.

150 72X18X27 1 PC FRAME W/BRACE
150 SHORT 48X24X30 1 PC FRAME W/BRACE

The Short tank will fit better into living room although both could fit.
The short tank only requires two MH lights as opposed to 3 for the long.
I would imagine that good flow would be easier in the short but someone can confirm this.
The long would have a better weight distribution over the floor.

Any other thoughts.

Thanks

yeah, for the sake of aquascaping and maintenance, I'd go with the lower/wider one over the taller/narrower one.

cleaning a 30 inch tank ish hrder because unless you have really long arms you have to do the last inch or two blind, of course if you have short arms they'll both be just as hard

Longer tanks are actually easier for creating good laminar flow (gyre-type). Also, the longer tank would be better if you wanted to keep active swimmers like tangs. However, the shorter tank is better for aquascaping and lighting. I guess it really depends upon what you intend to keep and what look you are going for.
