Tank raised clown and anemone

I just got two tank raised perculas and also bought the anemone that was in their tank at the LFS. The fish expert at the store said that the fish - because they were tank raised - were unlikely to bond with the anemone. Is this true? I am more interested in them feeding the anemone, rather than them swimming in/around it. Is there anything I can do to improve the chances of the anemone bonding with one or both of the clowns?

Thanks!
Vanessa

What type of anemone is it?

But, IMO, it won't matter if they are tank raised or wild caught.

2 out of 3 of my pairs of clowns (( different tanks )) are tank raised and they are hosted by anemones.

depends on the anomone type. But mine are tank raised and are always in their Anemone. Also the anemone hosts the clown.

It is a bubble tipped. It has relocated itself to the underside of one of my live rocks....must be stressed from moving in to the new tank. So, if the 'expert' at the fish store was wrong about that...I wonder if she was wrong about only feeding them once or twice a week?

Thanks for your help. I am encouraged! I truly want my clowns to handle the feeding business for me.

i dont feed allot but twice a day for the fish. I find here that the LFS employees are often very quick to defend there opinions however are not very educated.

A BTA ( E. quadricolor ) isn't a natural host for perculas, but it is fairly common for them to host those clowns in aquariums, so I would expect your to do that in time.

As for how often to feed, depends. What type of lighting to you have and how big is your tank?

I feed my anemones (( no longer have an BTAs, sold them all )) maybe once or twice a month. But, once a twice a week isn't a bad thing. I just feed my less to help limit their growth a bit.

Should have known...the lady at the LFS really knew her stuff, huh? Supposedly, they are perfectly paired....:mad2:

I have a Red Sea Max...34 gallons. I am using the standard lighting - 2 x 55 watt T5 power compacts (1 watt-liter/4 watt-gallon)
10,000K/Actinic lighting

I also have the two powerheads that came with the tank and I added a Hydor Koralia 1 on the other side of the tank to add just a little bit of circulation over there.

The anemone looks exactly like the one in the picture on the page above, except mine looks slightly bleached.
Thanks,
Vanessa

My tank-bred ocellaris took to their H. magnificas without any problem and, while I quarantined the male ocellaris (this was a few years ago), he went to my RBTA.
