Tank room shots...

Here's some pics of my family room where I spend far too much of my time. I've also noticed the frequency of bars in the vicinity of the tanks. I personally didn't plan it that way, but in retrospect, I'm pretty delighted it happened.

Great stuff everybody! Still waiting to see Marc's though....:eek1:

I'm really going to disappoint you guys when you see my livingroom. It really isn't nearly as much fun as yours. And wow - I covet your woodburning stove! I so want one of those for some reason.

And I'll be honest, I'd like to get a little remodel done on one wall before I post. But since I know you can wait that long, I'll probably just post the shot, and then when the remodel is done, show you the difference. I got a flat screen TV finally after years of yearning, and now I want to change that entire wall to make the TV look awesome. The plan is to remove everything on that wall now, and create a built in look for some stuff (component gear mainly, but speakers too), move all the wiring to where it needs to be to create that clean look, texture, paint...

Plus I still have the old 56" Panasonic tv in the living room eating up some real estate unfortunately.

Okay, so now that that has been decided, here are the pictures from a few months ago when the livingroom was clutter free and the angled tank was less mature.

Looks like a great place to sit and enjoy the view of your gorgeous tank! I'm glad you finally posted, as I've been lurking on your nano thread for the last few days and now the perspective to your main system is clearer.

Here is mine

and some from our member's tanks

DREAMYYY.... WOW I LOVE THIS PLACE!

I would quote them all but.... Woooow talk about inspirational. Some of your aquariums (and houses) are absolutely amazing. I thank you all for sharing, cheers to all of you!

Melev, I really like the idea of putting the mirror on the wall across from the tank. How does this look overall and how do you like it?

Not as colorful as Melev's (may have to get the paintbucket out after the holidays) Here is where the dogs and I hang out in the family room down in the lower level of the house with a walk out. Out the back door and under the deck is a koi pond..in the backyard is a lake. And inside is my 125 reef tank. I must have this "thing" for H2O.
When we built, we made sure to make extra headroom knowing we would finish the lower level for more living space. So the ceilings are higher than average and we used extra heavy duty trusses so no support poles would be in the room.
Now all I need to do is get real furniture and actually do a real design for the whole room....with the tank as the centerpiece of course.
I've really enjoyed seeing others tank rooms. Nice!

(hope these pics aren't too big)

Very nice. The colors in my pictures really seem a tad more wild than what the house really looks like in person. I'll just have to shoot new pictures and try to get something a little more accurate.

The mirror on that one wall was there when I bought the house, and I love it. Another project on my list is to make a picture frame to go around it. I even have the trim in the garage, so I don't have a good excuse why it isn't done. However, with my wall rebuild, I'll probably do that at the same time, as I'll be running new baseboard as well.

Great, even more work. LOL

Wow, very cool to see all the beautiful tanks and how people setup their rooms, and the themes! Thanks for sharing!

Now I need to go buy a bigger tank....suffering from a bit of tank envy here....lol

Wow, a Purple Heart. I salute you. I'm just trying to figure out what the medal to the left of it is.
