Johns sea hair did some major damage! But after I moved those big rocks that havent been moved in years I gave em some more go go juice but is definately in the more manageable stage, thanks again John. Now I can start to get rid of all this valonia, without fighting the macro and hair :D

The small male clown actually came from yourreef. John told me that it used to be in one of his employee's tanks.

Cheers,

Jim

That was my clown! :) Glad it went to a good home with an anemone. He used to host my green bubble coral. That really made my day.

Jim,

That anenome needs some TLC.....Bubbles, are that color only when all the symbiotic algae is dead or they have been dyed regardless.....it looks like it is in decline and needs to be fed silversides weekly....to bring it back. I found krill and mysis work also....

It looks like you have MH lighting, so once back to good health you should be able to sustain it....but being that weak and small with two clowns....they will probably tear a hole on a rock and it won't have the energy to recover and infect......

Anenome generally won't take food readily when starved so you may have to try multiple times if it isn't, but they can live off themselves for months and slowly wither away, usually unknowingly to the owner while it is happening......a nice anenome color is a yellowish brown......I only know because I killed a few myself before I learned the telltale signs......

Love your set up!!!!

Thanks

I've this anemone for about 4 years. When I broke down my reef, I was forced to transfer it over to my FOWLR, after which is has bleached. I have been feeding it weekly, sometimes biweekly with shrimp and squid soaked in selcon.

I'm hoping it will make a full recovery, but only time will tell. I have had it for so long, that it will be a true loss if infact it does not make it.

Thanks again,

Jim

Looks like you have it covered, most people can't keep one for a year,(and think that is a success), much less than 4.....most people buy them like that and like the white and hot pink and don't think twice about it......I thought you might of just picked it up and like most didn't know.......my bad......

Why do you think it bleached?

This is what it looked like 3 months ago :(

I think it may have bleached because of the light change from my reef to my FOWLR. On my reef, I ran 175 MH's while on my FOWLR I run 2 sets o TEK T5's overdriven with an Icecap 660.

The good news is that it has shown signs of improvement such as opening up much more as well as growth since the initial transfer in early August.

Okay, after much deliberation I have decided to put up a couple of pictures. I am a terrible photographer and I haven't been able to scrape algae lately because I hurt my back. This is my 240 that I set up at the end of June.

Yeah, it really bites. I can't wait for it to be gone. I hate looking at my tank and wanting to get in there but not being able to.

Not as nice as everyone elses but here is my 2 week old tank. No fish yet but here is what I am starting with.
