Tank Size - what would you do?

Help me decide between a 5' long 156 gallon or a 6' standard 180. Please see my existing tank in the link below. This is a standard 4' tank -75 gallons. I want to upgrade to a larger tank but do not know what size would look right in this room.

Notice that if the tank gets too much longer it would extend beyond the wall and be in front of the stair case. I would like the biggest tank that I can fit into this limited space.

Ideas please

Have you looked into sizes for a corner tank, would fit the room much better. Tonyicp has one that looks great. I think his is a 90, im not sure what the next size up is.

92 gal corner tank, The 4 foot tank already looks a little out of place there, 5 or 6 foot is too much. The corner tanks really make an awesome display

Now... my smartelic remark. Go big who cares if it sits in front of the stairway. You dont need to see the stairs for someone else to walk up them.. I am not someone who has to have it all perfecty perfect.

Well, if your looking for biggest, and keeping it standard, a 220 would be the largest you could go with, as its still 6 feet long. If your interested, pm and we can talk, as I have one for sale, with halides and vhos, and a stand that looks much similar to yours, and even if your not interested in the light setup, we could still probably work something out.
Thanks

******* 120 quarter cylinder ,,,,,would be sweeeeeeeet right there , i wish i would have kept my 54 corner tank , you can aqua scape them VERY cool ,,,,

Thanks Murph. I really like the corner look but I think the OP was interested in a large system which is why I suggested a cube. Possibly a rimless cube so I can live vicariously through him. :D

Make sure you are able to reinforce the place where you plan on putting that big tank. I had to scrub my idea of going big in my living room area because I couldn't reinforce the joist.
