Tank sizes...

Ok, I want to know what fish I can keep in a 6ft tank compared to a 4ft tank? I was thinking of getting a 135 gallon oceanic for the 6ft length because I might be able to fit it in its spot.

This all started with a 55 gallon tank, and somehow got up to me considering almost 100 gallons more. LOL.

Keep in mind that I am currently in the process of upgrading my tank to a 240. This weekend! But, I currently house,
1. Blond Naso - 9"
2. Pink Tail Trigger - 7"
3. Koran Angel - 5"
4. Yellow Tang - 5"
5. Mated pair black clowns
7. Porcupine puffer 6"
8. Blood Red Hawkfish

My fish have grown in this tank to the point of needing additional room. My Blonde Naso Tang can just turn around in a 135.
The puffer fish has grown 4" in the past 6 months.
So, even though a 6' long consider how large the fish will grow.
Depending on how much live rock that goes into the tank will also take up swimming room for larger species.

Hope this helps.

Do you think a 135 gallon tank can house 1 yellow tang, 1 blue hippo tang, 1 powder blue tang, 6 chromis, 1 royal gramma, 2 percula clowns, 1 yellow tail damsel, 1 harptail blenny for a long time from when they were all little?

BTW I apologize if I posted this thread in the wrong forum section. I was thinking equipment since it was refrencing tanks.

I would say yes to all but maybe the Powder Blue. I would tend to think they need the longer tanks. ex. 96"

I'd remove the damsel if you can. They can be really mean.
I got my first tank (55g) off craigslist and there was a large 5" yellow tang that had NO fins b/c the yellow tail damsel in the tank ate them all.

When you move tanks, I'd use that opportunity to trade in @ LFS.

Everything else should fit just fine!

I have apowder blue in my 210 which is 6' long, no issues and BEAUTIFUL fish, it also has a hippo tang, a kole tang and a yellow tang, a picasso trigger and 2 perc clowns. NOW, I know there will be a lot of "you are overstocked" but my params are very stable and I do 10% water changes weekly, I also have a generator in case of power outages. You can put more in a tank if you do the maint. the issue is if you loose power, so if you have an alternate power source, stock it up.....
