Tank Stand/Canopy Builders?

Hey guys,

Do you guys know of any stand and canopy builders on the island? I was hoping to get a steel welded stand skinned with wood. If you guys have any advice id really appreciate it. Im working on a budget as well. Thanks

What size stand (Or Tank) I've seen some store bought iron stands that have been decorated with paneling, and ply wood.

As far as the materials go, try Ideal Steel in Smithtown. They are on Southern blvd. near the Smithtown Nissan dealer. I attempted building a top for my 125 over the summer out of square tubing based on an idea I saw on a 90 gallon at SCF&R. 12 feet of 3/4" square tubing was under 15 bucks. Had I built it a year prior to this past summer, I could have built it for nothing at Carls welding and I would have had the tools to build it perfectly as well.

Thanks Christine, but I'm taking a break from that for a little while!
But "skinning" an iron stand is fairly simple and i'd be glad to share my experiences and ideas.
