Tank Stand Compromise?

Hi everyone I need your advice.

Recently I purchased a new sump for my 120g 48" tank. Now, I'm disabled so I payed someone to put it in. When I came home the sump was not it and he was cutting on my stand with a Sawzall, I freaked! I guess the sump was longer than my old one so he was notching my frame. Now I'm worried that the structure has been compromised.

I returned the sump and ordered a custom size one to solve the issue. I wish he would have said something about it not fitting before hacking my stand. But the damage has been done.

It looks like there is 3 2x4s on each of the front corners and 2 2x4s on the back corners. There is a front and back middle 2x4 but he also notched the front middle one a little. The front right corner is what I'm worried about. Will it still hold my tank over time?

Thanks for your advice.

How much of the 2X4 that is under the top board remains? If it is more than 2" you should have no issues.

Also, it is hard to tell but does the second upright on the outside of the stand sit under the front top board? It is hard to tell from the pictures. Another image of the front above the door so I can see the edges of the boards would let me give a better answer.

I have no clue to what you just said lol, my ignorance. As soon as my aid gets here I will have her take pictures from the inside as well. It looks like one 2x4 has not been touched, the one sideways but the two connected together where cut down the middle. The boards are like this =| I'll just post more pictures as soon as she gets here lol. Thanks for the fast reply.

Well from here the mud is pretty muddy lol. I had her take pics of the cut side as well as the other side that has not been touched as well as the center 2x4 that he "notched". I also had her take pics of under the tank. She is a trooper lol had to convince her it wasn't going to fall lol.

I would say you are fine.

Ok good. I noticed there was a 2x4 frame behind the 2 cut ones. That makes me feel better lol. I won't let anyone work on my tank again unless I'm here lol and I still have a lot of stuff to install. Trying to set up a tank like the big boys lol. Thanks for your help!
