Sorry to hear about this all!! At Least your playing it smart and trying to save all the critters and planning for the future set-up. How did the fish take it, any live?

I am around Sat morning at earliest and although I don't really need anything I may be interested in a few corals. Or if you need anyone to hold anything till things stabilize in your 72 even let me know my tank and quarantine are both set-up and have a lot of open realestate if you need it.

Initially all my brittle stars, 2 of my 5 emerald crabs, my hermits, some snails, and the 3 fish in my display tank all survived. I haven't seen if they made the transition successfully or not. They were ok about 3. The only fish casualty was a bi-color psuedo that was in the 20 fuge where the kalk dripped into. I felt so terrible finding him...broke my heart.

All the other fish (6 of them) were in QT for an ich treatment, so they were completely unaffected by everything. Thanks for the offer, but my mom's tank is available for my zoas if they start looking bad. If you want to stop by, you're welcome to.

Nate

It was nice meeting your mom today - although wish the circumstances were better for you.

So far so godd on the clam, it seems to be doing fine (although never having kept one I am just taking an educated guess).

For whoever was interested in the Sebea - it looked good when i was there around 5pm , definitely worth buying if you have the room

good luck with the rebuild

about how big is the sebea... after looking at the pic not sure if it will fit. although i don't have many corals in my display tank.

He'll expand to about 18"...possibly bigger...here is a pic of him in all his glory :) (on the far left)

The pink in this picture is the one I'm selling also. I'll have a much better idea of how they're doing in the morning, but I'm pretty sure they'll be just fine. I had to break the rock the Sebea was attatched to (bummer cuz it's a 50lb show size piece...but I care too much for the animal to let him go) but he's been moved into the bowfront with the pink, so they're in a more controlled environment.

Superstein, keep me posted on how the clam does. As long as he's expanded and occasionally "swallows" then he should be doing well.

Ok, here's a more complete livestock list. All the zoas and LPS seem to be fine, as well as the clam. All the SPS seems to be dying off. I'm not holding out much hope that any of it will survive.

200+ zoanthid colony $60 (for pics of it in my display tank, just ask, since these ones don't really show what the colors of these colonies are.)

IMG_2033.jpg

Really big Hairy Mushroom. Gets to be about 8" in diameter. $15
IMG_2034.jpg

Misc. Zoanthid colony (I think there are some dragoneyes, watermelons, and a few other unidentified zoas in here...easily 60-70 polyps minimum) $35
IMG_2035.jpg

Green Paly colony....$20
IMG_2036.jpg

Red Grande Paly colony....$20
IMG_2037.jpg

Really hard to see, but a 30 or so blue striped mushroom colony on a 5 or 10 pound piece of really nice LR....$30
IMG_2039.jpg

Everything you see in this pic...$60 (3xblack cherry zoas, 2xdragon eye frags, reddish (either eagle eye or whammin watermelon I think) zoas, Radioactive Dragon Eyes, Green People Eater palys, Peanutbutter cups)

All of these but the last pack will be guaranteed to survive in your system past a reasonable period of time (2 weeks or so) unless it's obvious they suffered from this incident.

Sorry to hear about that Nate. Let me know if I can help out in any way.

Thanks TJ. Since we have over 500 gallons of saltwater in the house, I'm not finding any shortage of storage space...and fortunately I had the frag rack built for the 72 and everything and it was just sitting, so all I had to do was mix up a bunch of water and transfer everything. I didn't acclimate since I figured if you're in a garage full of exhaust, you don't gradually build back up to the proper o2 levels. All the LPS looked good, which surprised me a little bit (brains, hammers, frogspawn, and candycane) I'll be monitoring tank conditions in the 72 pretty closely and doing water changes with r/o water as needed. Just trying to get rid of everything for now...reload, learn, and drop a few hundred bucks on some kind of pH controlling system to act as a failsafe in the future.

Updated list of stuff available:

Large blue crocea--$60 (this weekend only)
Rose BTA--$50 (this weekend only)

If those two are here past Sunday, I'm keeping them.

Red Grande paly colony--$15
Green paly colony--$15
Misc. Zoa rock--$35 (pending Brian3 if he wants it)
200+ zoa colony--$60
Large blue stripe mushroom rock--$30
Zoa frag liquidation--$60
Yellow Sun polyps (15+ head colonies)--$10

Tank, pumps, plumbing, lights, etc--$700
Here's a video of the pumps running the returns and spraybar. (moved about 20 gallons in 30 seconds, which means that after the resistence in the lines, the pumps run the manifold at about 2400 gph.

I'll be selling the live rock after I use what I want to set up the 72. Will ask $4 a pound for the really nice rock...$2.50 for the base rock. If you take it all when I'm done with it (should be about 2 weeks or so by my estimate.) then I'll give you a good deal on all of it.

nate id love that clam, but i am swamped all wknd with baseball. then i leave mon for work out of town. another opp missed.

ahhh james wish you would have posted sooner i just went and picked up the sebea anemone earlier today. it is doing well in my tank. starting to fill up and has great blue tips.

James, if my parameters get out of control, then I'll let you take him off my hands, but I'm getting a lot more confident as every day the stuff in my tank that survived is looking more and more like it used to. I have some hope that some of my orange cap is going to make it, and maybe my green slimer frag. I'm thinking that maybe because slimers have such a thick layer of mucus, it was able to protect itself more. Most of the tissue burned off, but it seems like almost all the polyps stayed in tact and are starting to peek out a little. I could be unrealistically optimistic too, we'll see.

Red Grande paly colony--$15
Green paly colony--$15
Misc. Zoa rock--$35 (pending Brian3 if he wants it, if not, Derek)
200+ zoa colony--$60 (pending Derek--Masterdull)
Large blue stripe mushroom rock--$30
Zoa frag liquidation--$60
Yellow Sun polyps (15+ head colonies)--$10
