My main heater went out.. I run a 300 watt. And 2 100 watt heaters.. for back ups..
The 300 died.. coldest Day of the year so far..so tank dropped to 70 (thermostat kicks down the heat to 65 when I'm at work..

All seems ok... except my already mad lta. And my Rbta was upset as well when I got home.. it's still not happy yet really...

Anyways.. my frog spawn on the otherhand... was more expanded then ever... do they like cooler water?

I'm usually at 79 degrees

I've had the same thing happen to me twice. Both times I raised the temp 2 degrees per day. One time everything was fine. The second time I had an outbreak of ich. I guess the ich was there the whole time but all of the fish were healthy enough to avoid infestation. The stress from the temp drop weakened them and brought on the outbreak. Good luck

Slow change. THings can survive down to 62.8 F before really bad stuff happens. Watch your ammonia, just in case you had some bacterial or invert (worm) dieoff: they don't endure cold as well as fish and corals.
