Tank Tour 07' DSM Area

Sounds good joel, we'll get things figured out for sure once we know exactly who is participating. Anyone else up for letting us see your tank(s)? Mine pretty much sucks and I'm still inviting everyone by, if that encourages anyone ;)
 
I am still in. I will gladly host a BBQ but it would have to be something of a potluck...I would dontate the beef/pork products...heck even chicken if need be.

But BYOB and side dishes...
I am just a poor white guy with a tiny lil 47 gallon cube...
 
Oh...and even though Brad doesn't have his tank finished yet, I still think we should force him to be a stop since his tank is awesome and like totally *****in and stuff...

I actually saw Brad about a month ago at Taki freeing a stuck puffer from their tank by the sushi bar.

Saw his tank on last years tour, he let us strip down to our unmentionables and swim around in there for a bit.

OK what's the plan Sunday?

As far as my tanks: The 90 is fully cycled and I have most LR and some corals moved over. By Sunday everything including fish will be moved. So if anyone still wants to make the drive I will be available. But of course it will be a newly setup, fairly well stock tank but with mostly frags and some older LPS and polyps. I am very pleased with the way it is turning out however.
 
Saturday night I work until somewhere between 4 and 6 [sunday morning]. I'll get out of bed whenever I have to, and I'm up for whatever schedule anyone else makes, but a semi-full night's sleep (6 hours or more) would be wonderful.
 
I would like to join the tour as well, and if anyone wants, we can swing by my place to see my tank. I am in Urbandale, on douglas ave and 86th.
 
I am still in...but not sure if i will be tagging along. Got the bike and the gas sucking truck as transportation while my SO is out of town so I would have to ride along. But I live in Elkhart so anyone is welcome to stop by and bask in the glory of my tank...
 
So I'll just throw this out there and we can tweak it however you all want, it makes no difference to me, this just gives us a starting point.

11:30 - meet somewhere to pool up to Boone to see Joel's tank(s)
2:30 be at cagri's in urbandale, meet everyone that doesn't want to go up to Boone, proceed through the other places:
me - sherman hill
philby (if he wants to stop there)
zltful - elkhart (ending here for grilling, since it's not too far away?)

Is there anyone else in the des moines area willing to grill? Just thinking it would be better for those heading up past boone to catch zltful's tank on the way back.

Is there anyone else that would like to let us all see your tank? Kinda disappointed that we've only got 4 places (for sure) to go, but if that's what we end up with, that's what we end up with.
 
I could probably have a BBQ at my place (sherman hill) if people wanted a more central location. I'd have to run it by the GF first - but it doesn't sound like there's gonna be many more than 5-7 people so it should be a big deal. We sometimes have our neighbors over to grill on Sunday afternoons anyway so it would be pretty normal for us.

I don't have much to look at tank wise (tank is being delivered to DM on Oct 14th) - but I guess you guys could help me re-baffle my sump and wire my lights if you wanted!
 
Yeah the centralized grilling location would be more fair to folks....And making me a stop on the way back from Joel's would probably work the best...

Just let me know...
 
What about Ipiniowa (Jerry's) tank? And how bout Tinytool (JJ), do you have to work JJ?

Ryan (Zltful) you should be able to ride with me for the tour in DSM and the I can drop you back by on the way back. I have to check to make the wife is OK with going to Des Moines that afternoon. She knows about it but I haven't gotten the final word. ;0) Coming to my place is definitely on if people want to make the trip.

Sounds like Jerry is booked all day Sunday too...soccer games...pesky kids using up all the quality reefing time!

Unfortunately with 5 that is what happens. Soccer all day and wrestling at 6 until 8. Gotta love' em though. :D I was really looking forward to seeing other people's tanks.
