Me again.
I set up the tank: a 130L tall tank with 3cm sand base. I had 2 50cm tall plastic plants and 2 20cm tall plastic plants + coral skeletons as decor.
Salinity hovering around the 29ppt mark and temp at 24 degrees. I'd just finished cycling and was preparing to buy shrimp to test my abilities at keeping marine animals alive...
I thought everything was all nicely set... until this evening when my 130L tank was suddenly only holding about 100L... turns out a rather major leak has sprung up in the bottom back corner of the tank. So I'm now back to Square 1.
We think we should be able to reseal the tank easily enough and set it all going again, It's just a little disheartening.
Does anyone know if there is something about the salinity/water quality which may have eroded the sealant? I think it could just be the fact that it is an old tank, but if anyone knows about something different which may affect it, I'm all ears (eyes)
