Tank upgrade preventing algae issues

Well it looks like my downgrade may change back to an upgrade. I'm determined to keep costs down by recycling as much kit as I can so will be using nanostreams, a BM 180 hero skimmer, bio beads and either led or 400 W mh lighting, nano wave box.

The big thing for me will be keeping that new pristine look of the glass. Any tips on how to do this ? (I'm no newbie) Some people on here have tanks that grownvery little algae, I'm particularly worried about glass cleaning as the tank will be in a Public area. Grateful for any tips other thank bio beads, heavy skimming water change and good water movement.

A good cleanup crew with the right snails will help. Plus a daily cleaning with a magfloat would be keep the stuff from getting a good foothold on the glass.

+1 CUC and magfloat. I use my magfloat every day, it's so easy! Also a GFO reactor will help keep algae down, as soon as I added mine I have a lot less algae in general.

I think with a new tank/upgrade/downgrade silicates and diatoms on the glass for the 1st few months is going to be the issue. I have found Rowaphos to be a very good GFO and silicate remover. After the diatoms have passed, your probably looking at wiping down the glass 2 to 3 times a week. I'm sure some ULNS systems get away with less glass cleaning but its just part of the deal IMO. Good CUC will definitely help too.
