These bottom rocks will accumulate a lot of "stuff" and you don't want to transferring this gunk into clean tank.
When I did my upgrade from my 75&58 to my 210 I got the 210 up and running making sure everything was o.k. Then I combined all 3 tanks so that they were using the same sump and let it run like that for a week so the water became one thru the 3 tanks. Then when I was ready for the move it was a matter of moving fish corals and some rock to the new tank and then taking the old ones off line. The stress was less on the fish and corals cause they were use to the water parameters already.
