Well as some might know I am in the process of upgrading to a 220G tank. Due to the fact that My wife and I have decided to rip out the carpets and install Pergo flooring and being lucky enough to have gotten a good deal on a larger tank the project begins. I not only am installing the flooring but am taking on the task of building the stand and canopy myself,as to save a couple hundred dollars!
The new tank will replace my 125(ehich is currently for sale). Equipment will include a custom built axrylic sump 48"x22"x18" , a sequence reeflo barracuda pump for the return, An Aerofoamer 830 skimmer, 3 x 400W Mh w/ Xm 10,000k bulbs,2 x 165w Vho actinics, and a Geo Ca reactor . I will try to post updates as I go alone ,along with pictures . I have already started building the Stand and Canopy and am in the process of sheeting. Thanks for looking John

Gary, YOU THE MAN!!!!!!! Though I wish I could have gotten the tank with out you having to break it down. It is sorta a crime to tear down such a beautiful reef.

P.S. What do you think of the New floor?

looks tucked up onto the wall- floors look great! and the start of the frame and hood too! -very nice!
ccould you post some pix of a closeup of the inside of the canopy?
or explain the layout of it?
:eek2:

congratulations. It looks like things are coming together.
Where did you get the plans for the stand and canopy?

I found the plans on JB NY's website: http://www.cnidarianreef.com/
I plan on replacing this tank in the spot my 125 is currently sitting. I am going to add onto the right side 1' for a cabinet to hold some of my trinkets. I also increased the width to 30" and increased the hight to 40" so I can have more room under the tank .

I m going to match it up to my entertainment center a cherry stain. The sheeting is oak ply.
Gary Yes the cross braces should clear that is why I asked you to measure ,so if they dont it is your fault :blown:

Canopy ready for the lights

Just a few pics of the canopy painted in the inside . I will stain and add trim when the lighting and fans are installed.
