Tankpocalypse Now

Long story short, came home from work today to find a cloudy tank where all my inverts were dead, all SPS were bleached, LPS closed, and a couple of dead fish (all Springeri damsels). The likely culprit or at least what I think it is, I found my titanium heater in 2 pieces in the sump. The electrical end had separated from the titanium and was still running (I checked with a volt meter and the tank was fine not running stray voltage however its grounded). My temp log stated that this failure most likely occurred at around 4 am. Over that time period I lost about 4 degrees, I went from 77 to 73 F. I have had power losses for numerous days where the temperature dipped lower and I have never seen this type of reaction. My question is there anything in that heater that would have caused this reaction to my inverts and some fish? I do have a fox face, purple tang, and clown that are living at the moment. All chemcial parameters were fine and no ammonia was found. I suspected an alk spike but this was within spec at 7.5. I have changed about a 60-gallons of water and added a bunch of carbon.
My system is a 10 year old mixed reef 210-gallon display, with a 40 gallon anemone tank piped in along with a 75 gallon sump.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!

So sorry for your losses. I’d suspect something inside the heater either chemical or electrical caused the losses. I think your water changes and carbon are the right move.
