*SNIFF*

I remember when my tank looked that clean

:(

Looks just great Dave. What bulbs are you going to run.

Cube is going to be 400w Ushio 10K (my favs) with four 4ft actinic vho. The long tank will be four 175w Ushio 10K with four 4ft actinic vho.

I'm seriously thinking of prosecuting..............

You can NEVER find a COP when you need one.:D

He tried to tell me that it was "cough medicine". The scary part is that I think I remember him trying to get me to pose for pictures but they were NOT with the tanks!

We're here....quietly watching. We're always watching....and dont you forget it.

BTW, as far as prosecution goes....wont work if you were a willing participant......;)

Dave.....pretty sure your tanks having water in them is a sign of the coming apocalypse......way to go, now we're all screwed.

Seriously tho....way to go!

I am getting ready to order new bulbs, why the Ushio over say the coralife 12k or any other bulb?

I have always used Ushio and like the crisp white color they provide on HQI ballasts and the full year they give of lighting...dependability mainly.

I like the 10K kelvin rating for growth as well...with higher kelvin bulbs, your color is OK, but your growth is somewhat stunted. I plan to do mainly frags and like to see growth happen while I am above grave:D I might do one order of Vanuatu acroporas from Mitch, but the rest will be frags from friends.

Thanks, Nick!! I am fearful what will happen next too:D I couldn't believe it when I saw them running with no leaks and no problems...I got out a couple of glasses and poured two triples of Jagy:D, then got out an Arturo Fuente Don Carlos Torpedo and let the exhaust fan deal with the smoke:bum:

It has been a very long project and I am grateful for the help given to me freely by Greg, aka capncapo...he is the reason why this basement looks so damn good and I owe him a lot:thumbsup:

Cool I will order them and give them a try.

Count me in on 8-10 differant corals when your tank is up. Even the pink and white table :) would love to see it grow in your tank

Thank you very much:) I will be needing help for sure with this much real estate. That table you got looked incredible...I wouldn't be too surprised if it turns blue on you.

I am going with acropora mainly in the cube, so I have room for several different acros...the long tank will be primarily LPS and softies, maybe a couple montis.

CUSTOM GEO SKIMMER

noonksskimmer008.jpg

This is the 18" diameter cell-cast acrylic skimmer that stands 5 feet tall...it will be run with a Orca needlewheel and Alita 40 linear piston airpump...recirculated with an Iwaki 40RLT.

Let me know next time you need help. I live in South County also...monster skimmer btw. Wish I had the space for something like that...

dang thats a cool looking skimmer

way to go Dave! looking good. Every time I have been downstairs and seen that empty cube. I envisioned a very cool SPS Reef. Time to make it happen, very cool.

Lemme know if you ever need a back Iwaki 40 for that beast...I've got one I'm trying to sell, but no one seems interested in....

One thing I kept telling myself with the 120 was that nothing good comes easy....

This is a labor of love....time just makes it sweeter.

Hey Nooky-Da-Wooky I want to see that skimmer in action.

I agree with MaxxII, the world is ending now that nook has some forum of water in his tanks!
Love the lighting set up the refectors are sweet. And we need more pics please......Ah none of the capo, You need to keep those to yourself. I knew you two were strange..... weridos. :D

But most of all CONGRATS!!!!!!

Thanks for the nice comments...don't worry on the Capo pictures....my camera broke on the first one I tried taking of him:rollface:

The skimmer holds 40 gallons by itself:lol: I am getting it this Weds or Thurs...I will be sitting on the front porch with cigar in hand those days until it gets here....I have already named the skimmer too........

MY PRECIOUS!!!!

After you guys left I ran some errands and was on RC about midnight and saw an email from the vendor saying my rock came in that evening around 5pm. I hauled griss up to the airport with a bad cold (now bronchitis) and got all the rock back and in the tank by 2:30am. The rock looks very nice and the cure is going good. I have a big water change to do tomorrow...did one on day two, now one on day six....impressed with the freshness of the rock...typical fiji...some pieces are too round for my liking, but others are very nice. I will post some pics when I feel better and the curing is almost done.

I will probably get another 300 lbs of something like MI or Vanuatu rock.
