Tanks on sale at Petco starting today

If anyone lives near a petco they have a dollar a gallon sale on all tanks under 55!!!!! Just got my 33 gal oceanic cube for $33........

Only thing it excludes bowfronts.....

Comes with the glasstop and their cheapy light fixture as well.....

Glass tanks only? Might be worth it to get a new sump. Or if it extends to hex tanks I might want to try a mini-tank for softies and completely break down my 120.

Btw do you happen to know if this is at all petcos? (ie you saw it in a local paper/flyer) or just the one near you?

Just came back from one petco, unfortunately they only had 20H, 20L, & 29 gallon tanks in stock. I picked up a 20L figure it'd make a nice QT tank, it was 50% off it's normal price (normally $40). So it was nice, now I just need to find a petco with a nice sized hex tank that isn't a "kit"

Thats a bummer... I'd call around.. I know someone was looking for a cube on here recently... At least they had something.. Did the one you went to have anymore of the oceanic cube tanks?

I didn't see any oceanic ones (San Bruno store at Tanforan mall), they were all All-Glass.

i went to the petco here in redding and they had already sold out on ther 30 gal cubes.but a guy i know ther said they might get more on tues night so he is going to hold two of them for me.they are selling these tanks at half the price that the wholesellers sell them for.whole sale on the 30 gal cubes is about 70.00

They had a 37gal oceanic cube kit with the stand filter and heater for $100 at one I went by.... Can't hurt to ask.... I think the 33's went first....

I think it was either the cupertino or sunnyvale location.. Give them a call.. Thats what I did.. I just went through the google search and started calling all of them to see what they had.....

Sunnyvale petco has no hexes as of this afternoon (when I went and picked up a 20l and a 29 (for a qt and a sump).

SF Petco at Sloat does not have any Oceanic but it has 40BR in stock.

Sunnyvale (on El Camino) also has 40 Breeder tanks...I was sooo tempted ....

They had 40g "Stretch Hex" which are NOT on sale, but the regular ones WERE on sale, but they sold out.

All I saw there were the 20g long, 29, 20 high, 10g, 40 breeder, 55 and 15 (which is an excellent nano size, btw).

They had a 40g breeder at the Petco in Bryant in SF. I was in the area and swung on by, didn't see the signs advertising $1/gal though which perplexed me. Guess they don't want people knowing there's a sale.

I was tempted on the 40g breeder too, but then I figure neh.. I got a 20L which is really the perfect QT tank for fish or corals (unless they're jumpers then you put eggcrate over it). Didn't see anything really sump worthy, the 40g breeder probably is as I think an ideal sump is one that's not very tall, that way you baffles are short and water doesn't need to drop. Right now I just have 2 tanks as my sump an acrylic with drilled outlets which is "level water" for my skimmer & heaters, and the other tank which is a bunch o' live rock and a return pump (might think about throwing a light over it and making it part refugium too). But I'm really too lazy to deal with tearing that all down and replacing it with a new tank. And I really don't need any room for tanks.

Heck I have a 135g glass tank I'm tempted to go $1/gallon right now if someone will just take it. Right now it's at about $1.50/gal

I read some of the post on another forum and people said some of the Petco store don't give discount on breeder tank. I will ask when I go there this weekend.
