Wow, what has happened? Anyone still reading this forum? The number of active posts continue to dwindle. It saddens me to see how the area is pretty much lacking a club altogether now. :(

So, how is everyone doing? Any reef tanks even left in the area? I don't have any active tanks but I am actually considering one again, those ideas will go into separate thread. Anyhow, just hoping some people might chime into this thread with any updates they are willing to share.

:fish2:

yea sad most of the threads here are folks selling out. Im not sure what happen to reggie have not heard from him in a while on here or the site he set up.

Well considering that nobody but Fuji and Xlanes shop sells salt now there's not a lot of outlets to get anything local now.

Hey carb I have a 55 setup that's only missing a return pump and water I'll sell ya!

I working on a club in for the North central part of the state. I put a generic site for the moment and a forum while im working on the real site if any of you are interested. RC is giving a spot here in the club forums should be added soon. Theres a page on facebook also at http://www.facebook.com/msmrs.org the later of that addy is the club site tho lame atm. Im going to pay to join masna in the next couple of days. Would be nice to get at least one real active club with meeting and such in the state. May be wishful thinking but im retired so ive nothing better to do besides feed the fish kids and run the sweeper

I'm not getting out. I just upgraded to a 500g tank. Most of the FS threads were by me for my old equipment. I'm already a couple grand into this new setup so I'm still going strong. I sort of fizzled out just before I moved to my new house (finally) in August.

wow 500 is a nice size tank cant imagine the cost I had about 4 grand in my 180. Cant wait to see some pics

Hey, glad to see a few fine folks around and kicking. I'm about 50/50 to whether or not I'm jumping back in but I have been and will continue to drop in from time to time to see what's new.

DJ, that's cool your spear heading a new non-profit club for the area. That is fantastic, I wish you luck! If I was to have any suggestions is that since your forming this sucker is to come up with some by-laws now while you can. I did my best to get A.R.S. moving with some a general by-laws but the more people with input the harder it is to get anything like that done. They can always be updated later if needed.

LtPiper, thanks for the offer but I'm setting this 30G up one way or another. Reef or FW is the question. :)

specialty pets was formerly Jomars. It's ran by Phil. He's a good guy. I stopped in there a few weeks ago and he really has the place stocked to the gills. He carries some good high end stuff too, stuff you'd normally have to order online. I rarely ever get livestock at Phils because he says it all sells during the week when it comes in, weekends are the only time I can get up there.

Hey Mike
Like Alt said not much to talk about here plus summer plus too busy...still have a 1/2 finished e-mail to you and Matt saved.:spin2:

Updates
Got rock in the 30 last thursday. Figured it would have to cook out again but looking great so far...if I can find the mounts I may throw in my old Seios and put some softie frags in this weekend. Thanks again for the skimmer Paul
I gack...gag...urp, cleaned it yesterday LOL. Found a pump just haven't ordered it yet.

You already know but for everybody else we're downsizing the 220 to a 120 to move the tank whenever the remodeling gets done. Plan to "upgrade" to the bigger tank again eventually but this just makes a lot of things easier...plus we got a steal on the 120. :D
Any reef tanks even left in the area?
:fish2:
Judging by the quality of frags and corals I've seen in the past few months reefs are alive and kicking here. Unfortunately none of the owners know of the ARS or RC. :headwally:
Locally Jimsreef is getting back in again and I think Curtis is too. Which reminds me still need to to drop something for Jim off at Berts.

Glad I didn't bet you Amy, you will certainly get your 30 running before me. This little SW vs FW question has me hung up for the moment. :)

I'm happy to hear that the hobby hasn't completely dried up in the area. Keep posting guys and spreading the word of A.R.S. maybe some day this forum will get some action again. LOL

I was told last week by a guy that was in the CVRC that Phil doesn't have salt anymore. I don't know that for sure as I haven't been in the shop now since that big dustup over the tank somebody from here sold on Craigslist so I can't say for sure just know what I was told last weekend.

BTW still have a 55 that only needs water and a pump to get it going and may soon have a 39 that water and go ready.

100% bull. Specialty Pets has saltwater fish and corals. And as Jason said above all kinds of high end equipment. If they don't have it, they will order it at a competitive price. I buy saltwater livestock there all the time.

I bought the clam in my avatar there.

I noticed on their FB page some request for SW livestock and no mention of not carrying it anymore. So I think it was a bad rumor.

Sounds like Specialty Pets is still kicking and that is great for the area Reef community.

I dont usually post here nor read this forum very often. But I would like to say we do still carry saltwater fish, live coral, live rock, and a line of reef equipment you will probably cannot find at any other LFS in the state. I plan to upgrade all saltwater systems by the end of next year. I have been taking down some tanks that were imo not needed. Hopefully, we can have some newer systems up soon that will be more energy efficient and streamlined. If you havent been by for a while maybe you could stop in, I think you would be pleasantly surprised at how much the store has changed. I don't know where all these rumors come from.

glad the skimmer was salvageable

im glad i cant fathom cleaning it out :)
Took it to the baby pool and attacked with a water hose and scotch brite pads...still trying to figure if the white cricket was that color when he went in or after. :lmao:
Phos-ban reactor cleaned up nicely too.
