Taqpol's 220 gallon custom Miracles tank!

I see two new fish the powder blue tang and yellow tang but what is the third?
You have a crazy good eye for this!

The three fish I had mentioned earlier were a pair of yellow tangs that get along and a baby Powder Blue Tang, but then I did realize I had added a third fish weeks before and forgot to mention it or take pictures.

The Yellow tangs are still a bit camera shy, but very fat and healthy:

The smaller of the pair seems to have developed what looks like the precursor to HLLE so I'm going to be watching him carefully. Both Yellow tangs were harassed endlessly by the Chevron tang when they were introduced, but everything has calmed down now.

I don't have any good shots for size comparison, but the PBT is TINY (Which I hope will help him learn his place before his normal personality kicks in). He looks unhealthily skinny to me, but he eats all the time and his stomach is almost always bulging as seen in these pictures. I guess it must just take time to get out of the "awkward teenager stage" and build up some back fat.

And the last fish is a juvenile of a fish I had in the 120, a Christmas Wrasse (Halichoeres ornatissimus).

Not too many coral pictures this time around. Many of the corals are dead, still don't look too good, or are too small to get a good angle at for pictures. That being said, some corals are recovering literally before my very eyes since I started feeding heavier and dosing Lugol's plus Amino Acids.

Alex,

How much and how often are you dosing Lugol's and AA. And what kind/product AA are you using?

Thx...Tony

Brightwell Aquatic's Lugol's: 2 drops per day.
Brightwell Aquatic's Coral Amino: 6 drops a day on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.

I was dosing brightwell lugol's and brightwell amino which Sunnyx told me to do as it will make the corals showing colors. Now I stopped dosing but do you notice any changes in corals color or in the tank?

For the fish I remember you had both yellow and powder in your last 120gal. How is the powder doing?

Amazing results with your dosing Alex! That's quite a bit of both Lugols and AAs. Are you seeing any unwanted algae growth from it?

very inspiring! i plan on getting a 236g tank in the future so ill be tagging along. ive mostly been involved in pico and nano reefs but lately ive been wanting to actually have fish -_-

I had a Powder Blue Tang in my 120 but it died due to an overdose of Flatworm exit before I met you. I have never owned a yellow tang. Were you thinking of my half black tang and the chevron tang?

For the Lugols it is double and 1.5 times as much AAs as what Sunny dosed for his 100 gal rimless. Since my tank is twice as big I figured that would be a decent place to start, especially since my corals looked so horrible. I do have a crazy amount of unwanted algae growth going on right now in my frag tank and anemone tank, but I think that has more to do with the rocks I put in there then anything else.

Thanks for the kind words, and good luck!

I thought you owned on yellow tang for a short time and I talked to you about it and you said it is not good for small aquariums.

For 6 months I was looking for a chevron tang but could not find one and I made an order through aquarium solutions and barrier reef and they still could not find one for me. From where you got yours?

Alex,
I like what you did with the stand and canopy. Very Classy! I have to get back into your LED thread. I think i may want to experiment with that as well but really need to do some reading.
Rob

Very nice set up. Sure glad you seem to have turned the corner on your corals dieing off,all your study, reading is paying off. Thanks for your thread a lot of useful information.

I got my Chevron from Barbie at Aquarium Solutions. They are considered a "rarer" fish so they are not always in stock. I miss Barbie and Kevin's stores...

Thank you! After seeing how your fish area turned out I can't wait to see what you do with your stand!

Now that I'm getting my colors back I am starting to really like LEDs again. I think its a smart move energy and maintenance wise, just make sure to be really careful about light acclimation and photoinhibition.

So am I, thank you!

A lot of cool stuff has been going on in the tank as of late. I added an urchin with a recent liveaquaria coral order and upon putting it in the tank it immediately emergency spawned:

Emergency spawns are not always the best thing, but it was still cool to watch and the little guy is doing fine now.

In other spawning news, I think my pair of skunk cleaner shrimp are breeding. Take a look at these pictures!

This happens on a cyclical basis too. This picture was taken back on New Years Day:

A cropped version of the previous picture. Someone tell me if these are not eggs, but those sure look like little eyes to me!

A picture of the happy couple. These guys always seem to be hanging around each other.

I am sure you miss Kevin and Barbie stores because now they are having ORA orders every week. The price for corals is lower than liveaquaria like blue hawkin's for $50.

I guess this guy also falls under the "new" fish that i haven't ever posted a picture of. I've had him since before Christmas.
