TBS anomones

I live within an hour of TBS and the last time I was there they had a huge vat of white long tenticled anomones. I don't know what kind they are and was wondering if one would be ok in my tank under 192 watt PCs. Will clowns host in them?

No clowns wont usually host them. They are condy anemones... Look them up

Fenner recommends "underfeeding". Can the condy live on DT's alone? There will be no fish food scraps.

Tony,

Condy's need meat. Look at the mouth (oral cavity or some such latin name...). You want to feed food which is a reasonable fraction of the mouth size. The condy won't even sting phytoplankton.

Give it a pea-size piece of seafood, say 2x/week. Don't feed if you go on vacation.

So after this past week and a half without food, it is probably fairly hungry?

Mine went for 2 weeks before feeding and is doing fine. Feed a peice of raw shimp every three days. He will love you for it. Trick is to get it in a spot that he likes and you like. Mine currently is decorating the back of my tank.

I fed it tonight for the first time...very exciting. I gave it two very small(about half a pea size) pieces of raw shrimp from the meat counter. Practically took the shrimp from the tongs. What a wonderful experience.

I've been feeding mine nearly everyday for the past two weeks. He continues to eat, but I notice he is slowly withdrawling behind a rock. He's probably being overfed so I'll have to cut back.
