I will be upgrading my tank in about three months (going from 46G to 75/90) and I'm planning to purchase rock from TBS when the time comes. Has anybody who has used their live rock experienced the problems of brown algae infestation that usually happens in the early stages of an aquarium's life?

If you are referring to diatoms, or the brown dusty looking stuff on the sandbed, then I think most tanks go through a short period of that. Pretty minimal and short-lived thing at most. If you are talking about actual multicellular algae infesting anything, then I would say I haven't heard of that problem with TBS rock.
