I have been meaning to post a review of my experience with Richard from TBS.
Ordered a 23 gallon package from TBS and got it 9 days ago. The order was shipped on the date I requested, picked it up from Newark airport, which took about 45 mins thanks to the nutty system they have in terms of picking cargo up, but that was no fault of TBS of course. Got home and opened the packages which were well wrapped and not leaking at all. 1st I spread out the sand which contained a brittle sea star (which is now the main creature in the tank) and a few snails and hermit crabs. Next I opened the box with the rock....lots of life on it, got rid of some of the crabs, threw some in as well. Shook the rocks off the best I could but wanted something to look at during the cycle. The tank cleared up in less the 6 hours and has been crystal clear ever since. I am on day 9 and my ammonia and nitrites are basically zero, nitrates about 40. We are still finding things on the rocks and my wife and daughter love spending time looking at the tank and finding new crabs, ect. This is my 1st saltwater tank and I was nervous about setting it up and making sure i don't screw it up as I really wanted to get it right for my daughter. Also, this is definitely speeding up the cycle.
Not sure what I took pics of in some cases, but this will give you a good idea of what the rock looks like!
