Like an atomic bomb
Hello All
Was a rough day, but not near what folks just 50 miles south of us have....
Looks like an atomic bomb went off, hundreds of blown out homes...no power, no water, just like Hurricane Andrew.....you cannot recognize the streets anymore. When the pictures come out you will not believe your eyes.
Had reports of 100"s dead, but now they are saying 50 deaths.
We were ready, or as ready as you could be. I had 150 gallons of gas in barrels, my generator ready, thank God it did not hit here.
When Andrew hit Homested 11 years ago I had a refrigerated truck and loaded it with 15,000 pounds of ice, drove to my friends house at ground zero and gave it away for three days. These people need that and much more....
But this time Punta Gorda got our storm so tomorrow I am taking the gas, chain saw, and our storm supplies and going south to do what I can. They got our storrm so I figure they need our supplies and help,as there is no food, water or fuel to be had just 50 miles south of us, and there is no fuel to be bought in Tampa yet either....
The roads are blocked, but they are letting aid support through.
I may be gone a few days, so yall hang in there...
