TDS Meter

I had the same thinking as you originally. No need for a portable one, I only have one home and one RO unit... But! The inline can get crap built up them and become inaccurate after being inline for a while. If you purchased an inline everyone will tell you to get a hand held one as well and check it and calibrate them both often.

My recommendation would be to go with the handheld. That being said I have never used the one they list on there website.

Just change your carbon and sediment filters every 6 months and the RO membrane might last 2 or 3 years. the tell tale sign is when the RO unit starts putting out more ~FILTERED WATER~ than when the membrane was new. that measn the membrane is toast, has been eaten by chlorine and stuff. and needs to be replaced. If your unit is rated 50 gpd thats about 2 gallons of clean water an hour. Just time and measure it now and then. RO membranes don't last forever. sometimes just a year, sometimes 2 or 3, but thats at best. They are destroyed by chemicals and time, and or plugged up by sediment.

they all need replacing. when the time comes, everyone here knows good suppliers at reasonable prices.

Thanks guys for the input, I ordered the inline one from that pet place. But i have another problem, the T's that came with it are 1/4 inch and my line is 3/8. Do you all see a problem with getting a T that has 3/8 on the ends for the water lines and a 1/4 for the sensors. As fare as I can see its just reading the water thats flowing throu it, so there shouldnt be any difference. Thanks again

You are correct, lowes or the depot should have a plastic T in the plumbing dept which will fit your need.

I was looking for similar t, but with two 1/2" and one single 1/4" for a commercial RO unit, and had no luck at Lowes or Home Depot. If you happen to find one, please let me know where.

Thanks!!

Andy I found mine at the rainsoft dealership in New Castle, But I did not ask about yours I totally forgot. SORRY. But I did find some at mcmaster-car at the link below they have the one you are looking for but it states that it is for Air use. not sure if they are compatible. I would imagine someone on here could tell you if that one would work. I personally would try rainsoft first or someplace similiar. Hope this helps. If the link doesnt work, just goto there web site and click on Push-to-Connect Tube Fittings, then tee, then reducing tee
