Tds / Po4

If the TDS is 150ppm and PO4 is O, is it good for using it as water?

Does the high TDS boost bad algae to grow ?

Although the phosphates are low, the water could be high in silica and nitrates, which could cause an algae outbreak.

I have hair algae growing in my tank I think because when I filled my tank I used water with 150ppm, now I solved the problem and it is around 0-3ppm.

If I make some water changes do you think the hair algae will die?
I have the sump full of chaeto that is growing and doing great.

Hi AZDesertRat :-)

How long do you suggest that I reduce my total output of lightning ? Example 6 hours less or more ?

I don't feed alot. This is not a problem. The problem is that this damn algae Bryopsis Hair Algae is really a pain..

My Parametres are as follows:

Temp- 26.5C
SG - 1.024
PH - 8.3

Amm - 0
No2 - 0
No3 - 0.2
ALK - 3.5meq/L
Po4 - 0.3

I think that are good right?

Bryopsis is a tough one, much tougher than regular hair algae. I ended up getting a lettuce nudibranch and it ate it all in a matter of days and it has never reappeared. Bad thing is nudibranchs will starve after that unless you can find someone to pass it on to that has a similar problem.

I bought 2 sea hares few weeks ago, but both disapeared and didn't helped to eliminate bryopsis..

Do you think you cannot beat BRYOPSIS even with water changes?
