Bought a new RODI and have a question.......source water is 186 TDS, out of the membrane is 16 TDS, out of DI it measures 15 TDS. Do I need to request just a DI replacement, or is the membrane faulty too?
Hi Janey, it sounds like the rejection rate from your membrane is only 91.4% and it should be higher than that. You should be getting at least 98% rejection.
If your TDS from the membrane is about the same as DI, it doesn't sound like your DI is working either. How long has this been set up and what brand is it?
I bought it from PurelyH20. It arrived last Thrusday and I ran water through the membrane for two hours before hooking up the DI. I then ran the system for another 2 hours before using it for makeup water. The initial test was done with an HM Tds meter. I thought it might be the meter so ordered a Hannah and the readings are within 2 points of each other. I will hopefully be talking to someone at PurelyH2O today...............

You would think that flushing the system for 2 hours would do the trick. Seems odd for this to happen when you have it set up correctly. Please keep us updated on what you find out.
I talked with Chip today and he said he would send me a new membrane and a new DI. I requested the DI be the "resin" for the refillable canister this time. I've never had trouble with the one you fill yourself. He said he would put them in the mail to me today...........will post again when I receive them and get them hooked up........hopefully Chip is a man of his word
