Tds Readings???

Can somebody tell me why my TDS readings are 0 when they come out of my system and then when the water sits for a couple days it shoots up to about 900? I keep the water in a 30 gallon brute and I have cleaned it several times. Thanks.

That's a huge jump in TDS. Can you get that reading confirmed ? It sounds more like a meter problem to me.

Some plastics will leach into your water, I'd look into getting something different...

It's the meter that comes with the AWI typhoon III RO/DI unit. I know 900 is unbelievable, but then ill fill up a small cup with the water coming from the RO and it will read 0 again. So it seems like it must be coming from something inside the brute....doesn't make sense to me.

Do you mix your salt in the same container?

Yes, it is in the same container. Even then, I don't understand how it could go from 0 TDS and then two days later jump to 900.

It is so pure and has 0 ions it will grab it even from ions in the air, the worst cause is a cat litter bix near by. Plus some salt residue, the reading does not mean the water is not good, because you got all the junk out of it, it is just picking up ions from the air, I keep mine covered.
