I know 0 is the best way to see that your RODI unit is working well but what should be the # when it time to change the filters right now mine is coming out of the DI at 0 and 1 before the DI

We would need to know the rest of your numbers, but most recommend changing the pre-filters every six months regardless (unless you have nasty water and do it more often).

Ok Before it enters the Ro unit the TDS is reading 48 after the Carbon, sediment an the Ro membrane it is reading 2 an 1 after the DI.

your totally ok, RO system will do around 90% or better depending on the feed water quality. aslong as your not getting 15-20TDS before the DI filter then your good. As roklem said changing the carbon pre and post filters every 6-8months is right on, clorine is damaging to membraines that's why it's important to keep the carbons up to date on filter changes.

no you wouldn't, unless you chlorinating it oxydize iron or kill bad bacteria.
your still good for change every 6-8months for the reason that carbon is still going to be removing any color(etc tanins), odour, taste out of the water. one more thing are you using carbon block filters or GAC (granular activated carbon)?

These are my filters that i have in there right now
75 Gallon a day RODI
1- 10 inch 1 micron sediment filter
1-10 inch 1 micron carbon block filter
1- 10 inch refillable Deionization filter

Looking at the growth in the sediment chamber, I'd say it's time to change filters and sanitize the system.

you'll find the production will go up if you switch that carbon block out to a GAC filter, higher flow. carbon blocks on well water tend to plug up very fast, it's the organics in the well water, they find a home in a carbon block filter and restrect the flow down to almost zero.

if you had a inline PSI gauge you could see the PSI before the carbon and after, with the pre and post filters being changed every 6-8 months the membraine should last you around 3 years.
