teddy bear crab good or bad?

I recently found a bright yellow teddy bear crab in my 140 gallon reef tank.I cant find any information about them.I am wondering if it is reef safe or if I should trap it and take it out.It doesnt seem to be hurting anything now,but I noticed it had sharp claws and was hairy and my old saying is if its sharp and hairy, most likely not reef safe.Let me know any info you can provide, thank you

very, very few crabs are truly safe in mixed invertebrate aquariums! Most are opportunistic feeders and not very discriminating.

Your specimen looks downright daunting.

I would not leave it in this/any reef tank under any circumstance that I can think of.

Please do remove this magnificent specimen to a fish only tank or even a delightful inline refugium that can be converted into a home for it.

best regards,

Anthony

Not reef safe - I have heard them pulling polyps. The only crab I consider reef safe is an emerald crab and then only one every 70-80 gals. Teddy bear crabs will do very well alone in a ten gallon. I used to keep one in a small tank by my bed as they are more active at night.
