tek t5 fixture

just set my new tek t5 retro kit up. all wired. things look great. one question though is that the green earth ground wire from the ballast is not included. the other white and black wires are included and are coming out of the ballast. does this setup need a earth ground or is this capable of being fine without a ground? thanks guys and gals instructions really dont say much. anyone have any experience?

Place your green or bare copper wire on the frame of the ballast so you bond the ballast. More ballast are doing this so they can save money and not buy the ground wire

the plug(whip) has a green wire coming from it, but it has a eye-hole end to it, so you can screw it to a ground. should i cut it and connect it to the green plug on the ballast then

if the ballast has the push in sockets then all you do is strip the feed ground and push into the space the ground terminal and ballast frame are bonded hope this helps

so im reading other threads, looks like some guys took and put a screw threw the wire and screwd the ballast cage done to their canopy as a ground. others said just screw to the canopy. but i have a wooden canopy??
