i just picked up a 5" powder blue 3 days ago. hes in low dose copper right now and is eating well and is fairly active in a 40g breeder. i am afraid to amp up the cupramine to .5ppm. he shows no signs of ich and was in copper(Copper Power) at my LFS.

heres a brief vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-u3dnUvm7wc&feature=youtu.be&hd=1

So please share a little bit about your PBT. Please include some relevant info such as..

how long have you had the PBT?
how did did you QT?
has it gotten ich? if so, what did you do?
is it peaceful, aggressive? does it bother other fish?

thanks!

I've never had a problem with any tang, using Cupramine at full dose. I use copper on all new fish and my PBT that I've had since moving (5yrs) had several ich spots on arrival. He quickly cleaned up in QT and there is no reason that he should ever see ich in his DT---there isn't any there to see. I haven't seen an ich-type parasite in any of my DTs since starting to use copper in QT, at least 15 yrs. He's fairly aggressive, but with tankmates that can handle him. IMO, their aggressive reputation is really relative. If they can be the alpha fish, they will. The PBT I lost to Katrina was always healthy, 5-6 yrs old; I think.

Mine is roughly 1 month.

how did did you QT?

I did not QT mine.

It developed a minor Paravortex infection but went away on its own after 3 or 4 days and I haven't seen it return yet.

It's the only tang I have in my 150g. It lives peacefully with 8 chromis, 7 yellow tail damsels:

It develops a strange relationship with this guy. He likes to follow him around when it sifts through the sand:
