Tell me what these are and where to out them

They do better in high light for me.
I have them right under a metal halide

If they aren't opening there may be something bothering them

no good pics due to location

They tend to turn more brown then green if they don't get enough light

Just for a heads up though, once you get those in your tank they're never coming out, they're almost as bad as green star polyps or those tiny blue snowflake clove polyps. And from the way they look in person, even fully colored up, trust me, you're going to want them out of your tank sooner rather than later :)

I wish i could just get them to open, everything else is!! :)

I used to keep those those on their own separate rock island. BTW- those gave me one of my hardest palytoxin hits.

I have found that these palys do well in just about any lighting condition.

I always start my polyps out low in my tank, and acclimate them to the lighting with time.

How long are you leaving them in a spot? Have you done any dips with them?

I leave them for about a two weeks at a time.

When I first got them I left them for about a month and got nothing, thats when I started messing with them more. I dipped them intially, but that's all, should i dip again and if so what kind of dip?

t5's- I wouldn't put them high in the tank unless properly acclimated. I have a colony of them on the low end of my tank (24inch deep) with a ati sunpower 6 bulb 54watt on top. T5's can be very powerful. In that spot they have a beautiful green color and grow well. I actually got them growing up some fiji branch LR.

What are your exact water parameters? DKH? PH? SG? TEMP?

Have you seen any new growth even though they are not opening?

A dip in revive would not hurt.

I have some similar problems with my tubs blue. they used to do so so when at bottom of my tank, when I gradually move them up, they close and for a few weeks till now, they still close but no sign of melting down.

I bought these Palys about 6 months ago, http://www.reefcorals.com/shopping/pgm-more_information.php?id=315&=SID they haven't really opened but haven't melted away either. I was curious if anyone had any, or could tell me where to put them. Ive tried high, low, and in between. I've got 4 x 65 PC now, but have Tek 4 x 54 bulb VHO t5's on the way, maybe that will help?
