Temp acting up on ACJr

I came home tonight and my tank looked weird, so I did my usual checks to find the temp bouncing from 77 to 83. The real temp is somewhere in the 75 range. Could this be a bad probe or the unit?

I just bathed and and noticed a nick in the wire, there is actually some bare metal showing. I am assuming this is it, but come to think of it that likely occured a while ago, but no issues until today?

If water comes in contact with the internal wire, it will corrode and the probe will eventually fail.

Its the probe for sure. Decided it was time to upgrade to an ACIII. Nice chatting with you yesterday. Its the one on one service that kept me in the Neptune Family!
