temp for a reef tank?

what do others keep the temp at for their reef

70 is way to low. 78-81 is what you should shoot for. Try to keep the swings to a minimum.

I hope that was a typo.

Anyway. I keep mine 79.4 to 80.2. Mostly softies and some zoa, but also a BTA and just a few SPS.

It swings between 77 and 84 depending on what time of year it is.

Mine stays pretty steady right around 79.

80~81 as a target, will sometimes dip a tad lower

Mine have been anywhere from 76 to 87, no problems.

Ask anyone who has been scuba diving or snorkeling on a natural reef... temperatures vary quite a bit.

Some species might do better with a constant 80 degrees, but I can't think of anywhere in nature where this would be the natural conditions.
