temp probe accuracy / calibration

how can i check the accuracy of my temp probe and make sure it properly calibrated? my ghl probe is saying my tank is running at 85 degrees while other temp. devices are telling me 82 and 83 degrees. i can live with 82/83. i cant live with 85. what is the +/- margin on the ghl temp probe? thanks

+/- 1 degree celcius is the industry standard.

when measuring against other devises you must take this into account but double it as both have a 1 degree tolerance which could be in opposite directions from each other.

if you have a devise reading 83 and the profilux 85 you have very little to worry about and I would put a 20 year bottle of finest malt on it that the ProfiLux is the accurate

Hi

I am sure you could find another temp. device which measures 86°F.

It's better to rely on the ProfiLux reading. The input circuit of each ProfiLux is trimmed electronically at factory.
Together with this high precision probe (PT1000 element, highest class) we achieve an accuracy below 0.5°C, typically of 0.1°C!
