They are a subtropical fish. One of our local members even caught a small juvenile a few hours north of Sydney where the water is temperate.
My guess is you could keep it in warmer water but would this shorten its lifespan?
Also would it be more prone to stress related illness if you did so?
The relatively small size of the fish will make it easier to adapt but I'm not convinced that it would flourish at typical reef temperatures. JMO.

Edit: most of the ones exported are from New Caledonia so I guess the temperature in the area he was collected in would have some bearing on the outcome.
IF your friends from the desert were cold blooded, they wouldnt last long in Canada either, fortunately for us mammals we dont take on the temperature of our environmentyap supposedly coming from new caledonia.

about biology changes .... I dont think so, I have friends from the desert living in Canada now ! youwould think they would freeze but nope lol haha
