Temperature

I'm getting variance of temperature all over my equipment and I really don't know which one to go by.

Cheap stick on glass thermometer:
DT: 81.5
Sump: 78

Teco chiller: 79.7

Jagar Heaters: 78.8


Which should I trust? Any cheap quick way to work out exact temp?

All of those temperature readings are fine. If you buy another thermometer, it may give you a completely different reading. I know a reefer that bought six different thermometers on a quest to get the most correct reading. He is still not happy. LOL

A lot of folks just aim for as close to 80 as they can due to that kind of variance and normal fluctuations in temps.

I've heard that the stick-on thermometers are not trustworthy. My heater thermometers are not accurate either. The only thermometer I trust is my 'Big Display' thermometer. I check it with a digital oral thermometer and it is pretty close +- .5 degrees.
