tempered... or not?

Hi all,

This past weekend I bought a 75 gallon oceanic aquarium used from a friend of mine. It is not reef ready, and I'd like to drill it... but I can't tell if it is made of tempered glass or not. The previous owner doesn't remember... I looked all over the tank, but the only stickers/info I found was the serial number. Is there a way to find out if my tank has tempered glass?

Do you know the brand? I'd say there is almost no chance that it is tempered except on the bottom.

It's an Oceanic. There were no stickers on the bottom. Looks like I may have to play safe then sorry and buy a hob overflow...

mine has no stickers on it. and we drilled the bottom of it. it is a 110.

Contact Oceanic. Give them the serial number. They should be able to tell you whether the bottom is tempered or not.

If you drill it and it shatters its tempered!
