Tentacle extension? Normal length?

Hi, quick question regarding my RBTA. How long should the tentacles extend? My RBTA seems to be reaching out with it's tentacles. That is to say, that it's fully blossomed but the tentacles are outreached rather than short and stubby.

He's stable and has been in the same place for about three weeks. I don't usually feed (is this absolutely necessary), but I did so today. He's housed in a 75g with approx. 500w of PC 10k and actinic. Parameters are good although the nitrate is a litlle high at about 15.

I also noticed some white striations around the mouth as well.

Just seems like the tentacles are too extended which leaves the base looking bare.

Any help would be appreciated.

na. i think your ok. i have tenicles that are well over 5 inches long.

the white striations on the disk are very normal too.

short and stubby would or could possibly mean its starving.

My bta reaches pretty far the day before i feed it. then some tenicles will bubble up. but i dont think u have anything to worry about.

except the feeding. i really do think its a good thing to feed your nem!! i feed every third day a small silverslide. these are the best recommended food for them.

nitrates shouldent bother it...
