Tentacle Turning Into Anemone

About two weeks ago i cleaned my tank and my RBTA split.

Both are doing well eating mysis and silver sides.

I am assumig while cleaning the tank i snipped one of the tentacles of the RBTA. I though i kept seeing a little tentacle when the moon lights when on but it would disppaear. Tonight i walk over to the tank and see this little tentalce floating around and moving.

Its this possible to turn into a full blown nem? It has all the genetic makeup. The bottom looks to be formig a base.

I moved it to the rock work hope it walks around and settles in.

Am i going crazy

Sorry you haven't gotten a response. I think most folks just don't want to tell you that it won't happen. Yes, the genetic material is all there, but but IME, a much larger chunk of the anemone is necessary for regenerating a complete individual, including part of the foot and/or the mouth.

FWIW,
Kevin

I doubt it, but am not sure. my anemone twists off a tenicle every once in awhile, it almost always lands on a coral and stings the crap out of it until i get it out of the tank. so they can still sting being just a tenicle.. but ive left some in the tank that i cant reach and no new anemones are in my tank :)
