Test kit for cycling

I'm 5 days into my cycle. I'm using cured live rock and live sand. I haven't seen any diatoms yet. I was gonna test for ammonia but the LFS just gave me 5 n 1 test strips. I don't think ammonia is on the test strip. How should I test for the ammonia spike? Should I purchase an ammonia test kit?

If you like testing and you want to watch the cycle then test every couple days.

I tested about every 2-3 days so I could see the ammonia and nirite spike. After I saw them to spike, I went about every 5-6 days
