Test kits

I need some links and a little direction for low cost accurate test kits, CA and Phos to start. Lots of options out there for calcium and I've never used one but feel it's time to start. I understand that everyone has a brand they prefeer, let me know your opinion and why if possible. I'll look for electronic test equipment when my rich uncle dies, right now I'm on a walmart budget, just looking for something that just works. The salifert kits look good so far. ya I'm a noob :D

I am not sure if low cost and accurate can be used in the same sentence when referring to CA and Phos test kits. :( I prefer the Salifert brand given the granularity you have when testing these parameters.

I use Elos test kits. I have compared the PO4 kit to a caloriemeter and it is very close.

I use Elos and Salifert. I like them both, but I prefer the Salifert for calcium. It gives a more precise result with a single test sequence. The Salifert test kit for phosphate is not very precise in the low range where we want to maintain our tanks. Also, it uses a blue reagent. For me blue is a difficult color to discriminate subtle differences in shade. I have not yet tried the Elos phosphate test kit, but I intend to. Marko9 - what color is it?
