Definitly suggested, however I have seen beautiful set-ups without one. Basically you want some form of really good filtration. IMO it doesn't matter so much where the filtration comes from, as much as it matters that it is good and the tank owner doesn't mind rolling up their sleves and doing a good manual cleaning if need be. If your going to go old school and rock a HOB then just make sure your cleaning and changing your filter media properly and as needed, same w/ a canister.

On a serious note, what this thread shows is the need for a particular outlet. An outlet that is supposed to be provided by the Lounge. It would be a simple matter to call all of you incorrigible. To me its all about having fun, the whole reason I am getting into this hobby. If I wanted to get in fights, argue about whats right and wrong I'd take up a hobby my wife enjoys LOL

It just means you were to stressed to get any pure joy from doing so. Hurry and get off your head, grab a cold beverage and relax for 5-10 minutes before attempting again if you dare If you still don't get it after that, enjoy a couple more cold beverages, relax a little longer and attempt again... if you still have problems theres no hope, I am sorry

Thanks, that helped alot. However I am now out of beverage and I am afraid I won't be able to keep up. I am also afraid to go to the store and restock because I will miss so many posts while doing so that it will be impossible to catch up. What a conundrum. I need advice.
